What are all-on-four dental implants?
All-on-four implants mean the entire jaw, such as the upper jaw, is supported by only four implants. The entire set of teeth on the upper jaw is supported by four poles, screws, or implants. This is why it's called all-on-four. The same concept can be applied to the lower jaw as well.
What are the pros and cons of all-on-fours?
The pros include the ability to support an entire jaw with only four implants, which is beneficial if you don't have enough space for more than four implants. The cons are that it's generally better to have more implants for better support, depending on the amount of bone you have. If the entire jaw needs to be replaced, then all-on-four is suitable for you.
Who are the candidates for all-on-four dental implants prosthetic device?
Patients missing teeth on the entire jaw or those whose teeth are not in good condition and need to be extracted are good candidates for all-on-four dental implants. Essentially, people who don't have teeth on the entire jaw would be suitable candidates.
When will somebody not be a good candidate for all-on-fours?
If you're only missing one tooth, you don't need all-on-fours. Additionally, if there's not enough bone or if the patient is taking medication that affects bone healing, such as bisphosphonates for osteoporosis, then they are not good candidates. Medications like Fosamax would contraindicate all-on-fours.
What steps are involved in all-on-four procedure?
You will meet with a surgeon for the surgical part and a restorative doctor for the restorative part, which sometimes can be the same doctor. They will prepare a prosthetic device for you or place the implants first, then you will get scanned (video and three-dimensional scans). All this information goes to the laboratory, and within 24 to 48 hours, they fabricate the prosthetic device that will be placed immediately on your implants.
What anesthesia option would be available to me in doing all-on-four dental implants?
Local anesthetic is usually sufficient. However, some patients might prefer to be put to sleep, which is also possible under general anesthesia. Most of the time, local anesthesia is enough as the procedure is not too difficult to tolerate.
How long does it take to heal from all-on-four dental implants?
Soft tissue heals very quickly, within a couple of weeks. Bone healing takes about three to six months to firm up completely. Despite the bone healing time, a prosthetic device can be placed immediately, whether it is temporary or permanent.
How long do all-on-four last?
Generally speaking, all-on-four implants are intended to last a very long time, ideally until the end of the patient's life.
What is the cost to receive an all-on-four dental implant?
The cost varies depending on the amount of work the surgeon needs to do, the brand of implants used, and the expertise of the doctors. On average, the cost is between $37,000 to $57,000 per arch.
Will my dental insurance help with the cost of the all-on-four dental implants and the restorative procedures?
For the most part, insurance companies do not cover the cost.

Are you sick and tired of loose dentures?
If your answer to that question is 'yes,' and if you suffer from any of the most common problems of loose dentures, using messy daily adhesives, not being able to eat the foods you love, soreness and pain...now there is help! Dr. Dayanayev can place state of the art implants under your dentures, solving most of these problems. If you don't have problems with your dentures now, naturally occurring bone loss may very well cause you to have these problems in the future.
With the placement of implants, the effects of bone loss can be virtually prevented, assuring the quality fit of your dentures for much longer. Qualifying patients can make twelve easy, interest free payments for the procedure - making denture implants affordable to all. You owe it to yourself.
Stop suffering, and begin enjoying life again!
Denture Implants are a recent improvement to dental technology that can allow denture wearers to lead more active lives, free from the stress and aggravation sometimes caused by dentures. Imagine being able to smile and speak confidently, without sore gums, and without reliance on messy and bad-tasting denture adhesives. These things are all possible with denture implants that Dr. Dayanayev and Dr. Terranova can do.
The implant denture system consists of a miniature titanium implant that acts like the root of your tooth, and a retaining fixture that is incorporated into the base of your denture. The head of the implant is shaped like a ball, and the retaining fixture acts like a socket.
When seated, the denture gently rests on the gum tissue. The implant fixtures provide precise denture stability that mimics the feel of natural teeth. From this point on, the denture can be easily and quickly placed and removed, and requires no special care or maintenance beyond daily cleaning.
Dental implants are a permanent substitution when you're missing one or more of your natural teeth. Mini dental implants, an especially popular choice, are half the cost of traditional implants. The insertion of these mini implants is a non-invasive procedure that requires no suturing. It is done under local anesthesia, and there is very little post-op discomfort.
